Miss Kittye welcomes you to this historic landmark, a one room schoolhouse which served this rural area of Mason County
from 1921 to 1946.
Outfitted with western flavor reminiscent of days gone by, this guesthouse has been made
modern-day comfortable!
Constructed of cement block with stucco interior, the pine floored original structure provides the basis for this expanded renovation.
A master suite was added, complete with a clawfoot tub bath. Separately, two additional bedrooms and bath were added in a wing of it's own. The two are now joined by a screened-in breezeway, perfect for catching the cool breezes while dining or playing one of the board games available or just 'settin' a spell' in the pair of
retro metal 'bounce' chairs.
Completing the renovation is a full kitchen (including dishwasher), central heat & air, a woodburning stove (duraflame only, please). As
a guesthouse, a selection of coffees, teas and
juices are provided, no breakfast. Currently,
there is no wi-fi or television reception but a dvd/vhs player is available for guest's use.
The elements that have never changed
in this slice of God's Country,
deep in the heart of Texas,
are the wildlife that continue to thrive
here in the absolute quiet
and the 'black sky' and broad horizon that brings the nightime stars down near enough to touch!
Non-smoking environment.
Rates are $150 +tax for 1-2 persons; $10 per each additional adult.
